An efficient regulatory framework in the foundation for the development of the Technical Regulatory Framework (TRF) to protect human health, safety, and the environment while improving the competitiveness of domestic producers and facilitating international trade.  Outdated standards and poorly crafted regulations can be a drag on productivity and growth and impede participation in international trade.


The purpose of this training is to improve the ability of Governments to be compliant with the WTO Technical Barriers to Trade Agreement (TBT) and to implement international best practices in drafting regulations relating to trade in goods and services.

At the end of the workshops, participants would be able to:

  1. Implement basic principles of good regulatory practices
  2. Conduct regulatory impact assessments
  3. Adopt measures to ensure that regulations are compliant with the WTO TBT Agreement.
